Education is one of the most potent instruments that change lives, transform people and strengthen whole nations. While it is given that education has its advantages regardless of sex, there is a strong case that argues for the superiority of female education to that of male education. When there is more emphasis on the education of girls and women, the positive change is not only felt at the individual level but also at a society level. Here are 10 reasons why female education is better than male education.

1. Empowering Future Generations

If a woman has educated herself, it would be very likely that she will educate her children too. This brings about a chain of learning that transcends generations. Healthcare and education experts emphasize that children, especially girls, whose mothers are educated tend to eat well, survive childhood, go to school, and progress in their education. This brings to light the reasons of concentrating more on female education than male education, which is the fact that it determines the future of whole societies.

2. Fighting Poverty, Reducing Economic Dependence on Support from Others

It is well established that poverty levels fall markedly with the increase in education for women. When women are educated, they are more employable, earn more money and can also be independent economically. In particular, when we educate girls, we arm them with the knowledge and competence to seek better jobs and escape poverty, mother more purposefully contributing in the economy than they otherwise would have had the chance. Getting to the point, it is much more effective to invest in female than male education with regards to acceleration of the economic growth and development of the country.

3. Health Related Improvements

Women with education also understand health issues, nutrition and prevention of common illnesses. This information is crucial because in turn it helps to reduce child and maternal mortality rate, promote family health, and increase in life expectancy. Education for females also helps in better conception decisions which in turn leads to better communities. On the other hand, educational attainment among men has a different effect in terms of these health achievements.

4. Ensuring Gender Equality and Social Inclusion through Women's Empowerment

Of all the ways to remove the ill of man’s oppression on woman, one of them would be bringing girl children to school. It goes against the societal system that denies women their rights and removes the impediments to the inclusion of women in social, economic and political spheres. They bring up the children in an educated environment, speak out against the wrongs in the society, and are more determined to pursue equity as the men who were stereotyped with education were. On the other hand, the education of boy children only contributes to social injustice without any positive change on the status of women in society.

5. Shaping an Active and Participatory Citizenship and Leadership in Women

The higher education increases the involvement of women in social and political actions, as well as male leadership positions. It is common for educated women to take active part in voting, running for office and leadership position within the community. This enhances the decision making processes at all levels within society to be better balanced and more representative in nature. For that reason, woman education is more effectively build inclusive and democratic governance institutions than the man education.

6. Lowering the Rate of Increase in Population

The most effective way of controlling population growth is through educating the girl child. As a result, educated women are likely to marry and give birth late and fewer children or even space their children. This reduces the strain on the resources and at the same time brings about a better lifestyle within the family. Educating men is good in its own right but cannot be relied upon to achieve much in terms of lowering fertility and controlling population growth.

7. Enhancing Climate Change Adaptation

In many cases, especially in developing countries, women are primarily responsible for managing the household resources such as water, food and energy. Women who are educated are more likely to be able to manage such resources or the energy sustainably and cope with climate change. Hence, such educational activities could result in positive transformation of the environment and improved climate coping mechanisms. This, however, is one of the advantages of growing women as opposed to men in that they contribute positively towards environmental durability.

8. Improving Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding Processes

It has been shown that countries with higher rates of female education experience lesser conflicts and violence. Women who have had some formal education tend to participate more in peace processes and seek to find solutions through non-violent means. Their various contributions in these peace strategies help in how conflicts are approached thus enhancing the chances of long-term peace. The absence of a positive correlation between male education and the promotion of peace or the reduction of conflict is understandable.

9. Enabling Growth for All in the Economy and the Society

Educating women is a prerequisite towards attaining growth inclusiveness. Women account for nearly half of the populace and act as important factors of production and even economic activities. Education of women leads to bringing on board a rich and more creative workforce which positively influences firms and economies. In the earlier situation, if only males were educated, their contribution in the economy would be limited since the active participation of the females would not be harnessed in the economic processes.

10. Enhancement of the Family and Society Activities and Welfare

Education of females improves family and community well being. If a woman is educated, there are high chances that her children will go to school, be healthy and have good parenting. They would also actively participate in their communities, in charity work and social issues. This brings about a positive change not just within families but within whole nations. Educating males also has its pluses although it does not have a strong effect on families and societies at large.

Conclusion

There is no doubt that understanding and appreciation of both male and female education is important and even beneficial towards the growth of the society and culture. No arguments persist regarding the fact that both male and female education is important towards the health social systems of the society. However, a variety of compelling reasons, many of which have already been outlined in this paper, explain why female education is more beneficial than male’s in many ways. From being able to allow those yet born more possibilities in the future, to even helping the economic growth of the entire society, female education is associated with changes that are meant to help not men alone but all the people. Focusing on education for females has the probability to create a more fair, safe, rich society for all.
