Reynolds and Jackman crash Comic_Con Hall H with all the Deadpool & Wolverine

“Deadpool & Wolverine” may have finally hit theaters, but the film’s leading men Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman saved their best press tour moment for last.
The pair rolled into San Diego Comic-Con with co-star Emma Corrin, director Shawn Levy and Marvel chief Kevin Feige to show the Hall H crowd a surprise preview of the movie hours before its global release in cinemas. Spoiler-reaction below.
The event was dubbed “The Ultimate Deadpool & Wolverine Celebration of Life,” and it had been a long day for Reynolds, Jackman and Levy, who’d flown in to San Diego from Los Angeles after Feige’s Walk of Fame Ceremony earlier in the day.
M&E firms considering a move to a cloud-based storage service will need to be sure that their business data — and that of their clients — is protected at least as securely as if it were hosted within the confines of their own facility.
Japan’s anime industry is experiencing a virtual gold rush as video-on-demand platforms, TV networks and movie studios all scramble to cash in on the medium’s soaring global popularity. Japanese institutional investors, too, are waking up to the appeal of both big-budget anime films and home-grown TV shows.
One-by-one, the quitet took the stage for what looked a bit like a normal Comic-Con panel with Reynolds reminiscing about his first trip to Comic-Con with the original “Deadpool” movie.
“I was the most nervous human being you would ever see,” Reynolds said. “I was stepping into a dream come true in a certain sense, but I remember making that movie for you, and I remember how gratifying it was that everyone else liked it too.”
He continued: “I feel like I was able to connect with you in a way that I’d really kind of been yearning to connect. And I’ll never forget this moment, because this asshole was backstage…” he added, nodding to Jackman, who chimes in to finish the story.
“First of all, I was standing here,” Jackman said. “And I watched on the screen, and there was this chant ‘one more time, one more time.’ And I ran back here and I found the guy and I said, ‘Play it again. If you don’t play …’”
Then, after you've relished in those delightful memories, Reynolds queued up a clip of his co-star Leslie Uggams (a.k.a. Blind Al) saying, "Can we skip the bullshit and just show the damn movie?"
The crowd (a full house of 6,500) went nuts at the news and suddenly the souvenirs they’d been given for queuing up outside Hall H — those much-vaunted (and hilariously phallic) Wolverine-head popcorn buckets — made even more sense. As the lights dimmed in the auditorium-cum-improvised cinema, ushers began passing down popcorn and Reynolds, Jackman, Feige et al took their seats in the audience...
They sure know how to play to a crowd. For the 2-hour duration, all the major moments garnered rapturous responses from the audience – especially the Easter eggs and in-jokes. But nothing quite played as electrically as the film’s surprise cameos. Each one elicited a cheer from the crowd that seemed to put an indestructible grin on Feige’s face.
It didn’t end there either as the cast came back on the stage with Reynolds (who looked like he was getting teary) telling everyone that it felt “emotional honor and a privilege to be standing up here next to the X-Man (Jackman).”
Jackman said that he has played Wolverine for the past “24 years and nine movies”. However, watching this film with all of Hall H was one of his other best experiences. The actor also thanked Levy for creating the opportunity to unleash Wolverine again.
But Reynolds and Jackman didn’t want the stage all to themselves, so they invited the rest of that spoiler-rific cameo cast — including Dafne Keen, Jennifer Garner, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Wesley Snipes, and Chris Evans (whom Reynolds introduced as Human Torch) — to join them up there.
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman blew the roof off Hall H at #SDCC when they brought out the entire cast of secret cameo characters from #DeadpoolAndWolverine.
The "Deadpool & Wolverine" party is the kickoff to two Hall H takeovers by Marvel Studios. After the screening, the studio set up a 10-minute drone and fireworks show over Petco Park featuring formations of Deadpool and Wolverine, and a taste of what's to come when Feige takes the stage again on Saturday. (If you can read between the flashing lights, expect major announcements about "the Fantastic Four.")
But first, Marvel will have to maneuver around “Deadpool & Wolverine” — the third titled release of what is becoming a season of superheroes — which is opening in nearly 4,350 locations and could nab $160 million-$170 million from a mass-released 4,200 theaters.
That’s ahead of the debut for sibling title 2016’s “Deadpool,” which was the largest R-rated opening in history at $132.4 million (before inflation) on this same weekend three years ago. Following early test screening for students and fanboys last week, some box-office tea-leavers see “Deadpool & Wolverine” coming in north of $190 million with others warning underestimation as high as an eight-figure miss if pre-release buzz lacked for interesting cameos don’t carry the day.
